So we're now in the season for holidays. I think that we have the most beautiful country here in old blighty, but holidays here are always affected by the weather. It's such a shame, that we can't depend on the weather because I think that more people would holiday here.
I have to admit that a lot of my favourite holidays have been abroad but it isn't because they were sunny, it is more about the new experiences which I had. I had wanted to go to Rome for as long as I can remember and it truly was, the most amazing experience. I was in my wheelchair as you can see from the picture, so it was tough at times especially for my daughter Ella, who was pushing me in 30 degree heat! Some places were wheelchair friendly whilst others were most definitely not; surprisingly the 2000 year old colosseum was wheelchair friendly but the underground was not. Despite being in Rome in the Summer, we had an evening of the most torrential rain!
I have had some amazing holidays here too; in the lakes, in Somerset, in Newquay. I have also had some brilliant holidays, when in fact, it did rain almost all of the time. When I was young, we had a weekend on a canal barge and it rained, so much but we had such fun. So, is it just a case of making the most of what you've got? As in life in general is it our attitudes which need to change rather than the weather?
So I hope whoever is going away, despite the weather and where you are going, that you have a fantastic time.
