Reading about an elderly lady studying for a degree prompted me to write this blog. The article talks about her wanting to keep on moving, to not just sit and get old and I think that it is an important lesson irrespective of age. I once did some curtains and blinds for an elderly lady who would talk at length about her achievements in life. She was in her 80s and she had done some awesome jobs, she had been; a pilot, a carpenter, a driver amongst many others. She had certainly lived her life, cramming in as many experiences as she possibly could.
Too many people are happy to just sit back and let life happen to them, then they complain that life hasn’t given them any chances. I think that if we ourselves, make as much effort as possible in life, then ‘life’ will meet us halfway. Some people seem lucky in life but when you really look at what they do, they usually do more than most, to make a success of their lives. I’m not just talking about material wealth though, it’s more about seeking to improve our general well being and that will be different for everyone.
The website for my sunshine groups is soon to be taken down, it’s not fit for purpose anyway but with it will go my name. I carried out a poll on Facebook and hopefully my new umbrella name will be ‘Be your own sunshine’. It fits with my group work programmes, which has the name ‘sunshine groups’, it fits the books I have written, the first of which is called ‘You are my sunshine’, it also fits with my blog which is simply called ‘Sunshine blogs’.
This has all meant that I have reconsidered how best I can showcase them. I had a simple website
